Starphire Glass

I'm having a reef tank built, about 44L x 23W x 22H. I plan to keep clams and soft corals. How much better is Starphire glass than regular glass for true colors? Is it really noticeable?

Thanks,
Diana

I've noticed that the pretty blues in clams, like Tridacna Maxima, appear brown when viewed through regular glass. Will Starphire let the blues/purples/greens show more accurately?
Also, is it true Starphire makes no real diffrence when viewing the red spectrum?

Thanks again,
diana

Clams appear brown when viewed at an angle off from vertical, since their pigmentation seems to be a sunscreen, basically.

The normal glass will give everything a more greenish tint, in my experience.

Just be careful cleaning my newbie buddy scratched profanity removed the glass, didn't notice sand in the magnafloat srubber. Apparently it's a much softer glass?

my 90G is Starfire, you can definitely notice a difference, so if you don't mind paying the extra money, go for it.

Hi o.c.d. So you think Starphire may be a glass that scratches more easily than normal glass. If that's the case, I wonder then how it compares to acrylic in endurance. Still much better, I hope.

From my experience, I've had no scratches and I use the a scraper and foam pad to clean the inside of the glass.
