starry blenny

I have a starry blenny, Salarias ramosus in quarantine. Most of the time it is dark brown with white spots all over it...like snowflakes (and no, it isn't a disease). Some days it is just plain brown with a yellow under belly. Has anyone kept this fish? Is the lack of its spots a sign it isn't happy that hour? He is due to come out on the first. Can't wait!

What time are you viewing it when you see the color change? Often when they are going to bed, waking up, or asleep, they will have a different color.

Good point. I will have to see when I am seeing the different colors. It's not at bedtime for sure. Early am he has his stars...
