sometimes i think that but the colonies i have did color up quite a bit.i just had them for many years and back in the day you really didnt have the vibrant colors that are out there now.here is a couple that colored up quite a bit,but nothing like the stuff that is out there now days.i would love to get some of the beautiful blue torts and such anthony has pictured.

Those look pretty good to me. The problem with the torts in particular is that they are very slow growers in most cases. You do have some nice colonies!

Hi Dan I'm lucky that I live in SO Cal and I'm surounding with good LFS. Plus Reefermadness and Atlantis are with in reach. I collect most of my corals through them and swap between friends. The key to the colorful coral is to feed them and give them high light and high flow.

thanks anthony,i was wondering when you would be back.i run 250 watt reeflux 12k and 2 vho actinics on my 180.do you think switching to 400 watt halides would help.do you think the t5 actinics are a better choise over the vho.

Hi Dan

I run 2 skimmer in my sytem so I can feed a lot without worry that I will polute the tank. I feed my fish 3 times a day and I feed the coral at night when light turn off with Coral food. It a mixture of cyclopee,plantonk,algea....ect. I have T5 right now but MakoJ have great color with his VHO and he flood his tank with it. If you don't have a heat issue with 400W then upgrade since I never believe that we can burn our coral.

both waveboxes been installed about month or so, had to use tunze magnets since i build anything now. i think are tune right?more house projects my wife wanted me to finished on so tank on hold for time being. still debating on either 2 6201 or 4 6101 as im trying to get flow to every canyon and clean the sand bed up a little.

Dude, i had 4x6201 and dual wavebox in my 4x4 cube..

but you have 600g! I have 2x6201 on 180g! It's funny when my lawnmower blenny tries to eat off the 6201, and he gets blown half way across the tank! He must like it, cuz he keeps coming back
