I've been running a calcium reactor for years Alkalinity stayed around 9-10 Dkh, but always had low pH,7.99-7.65 so I deceided to add kalk to top off, now my Alkalinity is around 13-14 Dkh and pH 8.0-8.11 I shut down the calcium reactor to see how the tank adjusts to just the Kalk. I'm wondering if my low pH wasn't such a big deal and should have just left it alone?

IMO, the limewater is a good idea.

It is easy enough to dial back the CaCO3/CO2 reactor as much as you want. I'd stop the CO2 for now, then slowly restart it at a lower CO2 flow rate (or higher pH, if you control that way) to try to stabilize at your target alkalinity. :)

Thanks thats what I'm doing now, I control the reactor with the Apex and a pH probe, I raised the pH in the reactor, hopfully I can balance out the two

I started dosing kalk months ago and love it. I did notice my dkh went up to about 10, but I was using super saturated limewater by first mixing kalk powder with vinegar. I am not sure if this was the cause but I'd like to dial the dkh back to about 7.5-8.5 range.

I'm dosing it through my ato and only having to replace about 1.5-2 gallons per week in a 25 gallon system. Most of my sps are just frags so they may not be taking up much of the alk/cal...
