I'M BAAAAAAACK! Did you all miss me?
In case I didn't tell you guys, which is entirely possible, I've been up in Maine taking a sharks class at the Shoals Marine Laboratory. That's why I haven't been around in over a week. In case any of you were wondering :D
And look what we got to do!

Profusion!
(ie replacing an animals blood with formalin in order to preserve the specimen for easier dissection and, in our case, anatomy lessons)
Sorry if that grosses you guys out, but I figured I had to share something with you. The funny thing is on my camera all my pictures that I took go from scenic landscape, to pictures of my dorm, to an open brain of a shark, to us profusing one... Yah biology nerds!

Sorry to hear about your engineer goby TJ. I hope it all works out so you don't have another huge task at hand like changing up all your rock work just because of one little fish.

wow that looks fun, i remember dissecting one wayyy back in H.S.

Just thought I'd swing by and say bye. I'll be offline for a while. Not sure when I'll be back on, I'll try to drop in and catch up every now and then but for now, Goodbye.

Miss ya Kar! Be safe, and come back soon!

Cool!!! Geek out!!! Science is awesome! If I wasn't so busy keeping up with computers I would probably be doing something science related...or culinary which is pretty close to chemistry if you specialize in pastry.

Marine Bio Rae.
Thanks for missing me haha.

TJ, what do you plan on doing with the island? Some PVC and shelves, putty, fishing line, or something else?

Chris, I too thought of doing something culinary. I chose Marine Bio instead and now I just watch the Food network haha.

I'm not sure... I have an opportunity to break it down before I purchase some expensive frags. I have my eye on quite a few new additions (coral wise), but would like to get the aquascape supported, and figure out this dosing system before doing so.

I may get a frag tank up and running in the meantime, so I can move the corals to that while screwing with the tank.

D to the P,

VERY neat! I'm truly envious... from one Bio nerd to another. :D

So where are you studying? PA? (assuming that it's PA because of the Amish. )

Setting up a frag tank while working on the tank might not be such a bad idea just incase something unfortunate does happen.

Always using that noggin ;)

Also, I'm conisdering picking up another BRUTE to keep premixed saltwater in just in case something would go horribly wrong with my new dosing system

Looks like fun! If you don't mind me asking. Who did you do that with? I'm doing an article on Marine Biology and would be very interested to write about something similar to this.

OK FINAL STRAW!!! THAT LITTLE ENGINEER SOB IS OUTTA HERE!!!

He's digging under the other island now!!! I just filled his hole in with him in it, and he shot out. As soon as I can catch him he's on his way back to the LFS. :furious:

Yeah I'm a student at Millersville University in PA

WOW!!! What luck... I got him second try... :D

Used the turkey baster to blast him right out of the hole and into the net.

One eviction notice served... one more to go.

Wow that is lucky. Hopefully the second one goes just as well.

I doubt it... the section eviction is the Coral Banded Shrimp, and he never leaves his cave.

that was fast.. are you thinking about getting anything new soon?

Yeah I was way lucky

I have a TON of frags in mind, also a local reefer has a blue milli and blue digita that I think I'm going to pick up frags of this week.

There's a bunch of high end frags I plan on purchasing, but want to make sure my rockwork and new dosing method is on point first so I don't have any fluctuations that could wipe them out.

As far as fish... I'm so confused... I don't know what I like anymore :rolleye1:
