in the kitchen Center pic what kind of coral is that behind the fish? it looks like a duncan on roids
That was sold to me as a Rose BTA, it's actually bi-color, Rose on the outside and Green on the inside. You can see a bigger version in the center of the "Kitchen closer, right side" picture.

Chris,
your reefgarden looks awesome!

What is this the coral in the "Living room, bottom left" picture. It sorta looks like a candy coral but with teal centers?

Thanks Waffleman!!

It was sold to me as a button coral. It's doing good in the spot I have it in now, but I think would do better with more direct light.

Anything on the Living room side also get a lot of indirect natural light through the sliding glass door. I can see that several corals are leaning in that direction.

awesome chris, good to see you keep this thread alive. Your build was one of the first threads I stumbled on when I was looking into saltwater. Took me pages of reading to realize you were from GI, where my family lives. Maybe one day when I visit them I will try to see this tank in person.

Thanks for the positive feedback. Like all tanks, it's got it's minor issues (hair algea), but it has been good so far.

naprestsleep - I love talking about fish tanks with people. Anytime you plan to be in Grand Island, drop me a PM and we can setup some time.

Looks beautiful, Chris!

What's your maintenance regimem (H2O changes, carbon?, Ca and alk supplementation, etc.)?

Thanks!

I estiamte the total water volume to be about 250 gallons. I change 18 gallons every week, which is about 7%. I am using the same mixing container from my 120 which was about 180 gallons volume.

With every water change I add Ca and Alk via B-ionic.

I topoff with Kalk to maintain Ca.

Other than that, I clean the sump and skimmer one a month and the glass I try to clean daily to every other day. I am at the point that I feel it's best to stay as hands out of the tank as possible.

I do have some massive fragging I need to do or I am going to start to lose some corals due to over competition.
