I am starting a 60 gallon tank. I want to know everything that i will need to start it up. I just put in 60 pounds of substrate and a filter. Im about to get a powerhead and a heater as well. My lights are not intended for corals so I am going to hold off on those until i get a better light setup. Is 60 lbs enough substrate?

well id like a little more info to make some suggestions for you:) what are you going to do about biological filteration? are you intending to get a skimmer? have you considered a sump or refugium or both? you say you have added 60 pounds of sand, what type and is there any rock in the tank? are you using tap water? have you bought a canister filter? hope not, but i assume you have or a hob as you said you have added a filter, what research have you done to this point? do you need help with the initial nitrogen cycle? whats your long term plans with the tank? have you got a heater? what salt are you going to use? you say your lights are not intended for corals, what type of lighting have you got at the moment? you mentioned a powerhead, what is it? how do you know its adequate/ theres lots of answers needed really before advice can be given, however the stickys at the top of the forum by waterkeeper is a great start, welcome to the forum and i hope you re-post:)
