I am really interested in this dosing system for use with two part b-ionics
Can you give a breakdown in the price?

1 x Extention tube for Drew's Doser W/ Zip Ties = $5.99 (Bulk Reef Supply)
2 x Thin 4 liter (1.05 gallon) Space Saving Jug = $17.98 (Bulk Reef Supply)
2 x Drew's Doser Peristaltic Dosing Pump = $169.98 (Bulk Reef Supply)
2 x Clamp holder and Hose clamp + screw Tunze PN 3000.240 $17.00
Total = $210.95

If you want to use Bulk Reef Supply's two part solution.

1 x Two Part Kits (06) = $10.99

The 2 Gallon Kit includes the following:

(1) pouch with 2 cups of High Purity Calcium Chloride

(1) pouch with 2 cups of High Purity Soda Ash (Sodium Bicarbonate)

(1) pouch of High Purity Magnesium Sulfate and Chloride mix (each makes 20oz of solution).

thanks for the link. Since it would be over night charges I would pick up a few more things to make the shipping charges easier to swallow

There is a LFS, Global Leader Aquatics here in Humble thats been open less than a year. I picked up my first coral there, a torch. Looks like he has some decent stuff there, I know its a far drive from Katy though.

Yeah the last time I drove there and back gas alone cost me over $20.00. A few more bucks and I can get it delivered without the two hour round trip drive. :)

Congrats on the dosers! I couldn't be happier with mine. Now you have to figure out what to do with all that free time :) Great idea with the tunze holders. I just got an osmolator myself. Haven't set up yet though.

Sorry to hear about the trachy. That was real pretty. :(

It is nice not having to manually dose every morning. The big problem was when I traveled for work. That's no longer a problem.

I am also really happy with the lastest skimmer. This outperforms anything I have used in the past.

Very nice. Some good pe there :)

Hey, how did you make out with that lobophora algae problem? I have it and it's kicking my butt. On my second long spined urchin and they may eat it on occasion. Nothing to seriously stop it though.

The major areas were completely cleaned by the Urchin. I have one area that was not very accessible and it still has some Lobo but it has not grown much. I am sure that won't last long.

I really lost a lot of coraline from the Urchin which is just now starting to grow back.

My biggest problem is Red Algae (turf/cotton or what ever it's called). It's isolated in the sump but it covers my chaeto in just a few weeks. I am constantly having to clean off the chaeto and in the process I loose a lot of pods that are living there.

I still am looking at an upgrade and during this time I will hopefully be able to threat both of these problems as it seems the only sure way to get rid of both is removal of the affected area.

Here are some pics of the Lobo and Red Algae. The Red Algae is not Cyano. I have had a battle with that for the last two months and this is totally different stuff. This has been with me since August 07. Check day 24 of this thread.

Sorry for the poor pic. The Sump is not very accessible using the Nikon.

I have lobo much worse :( That red algae looks like a real pain. Do you run phosban? Maybe that woudl help?

Made some changes yesterday. I'm just tired of this red algae. I cleaned out the fuge area of the sump and added 5" of sand to create a DSB in this area. I also put the phosban reactor back on to help since the chaeto was removed. I covered the overflow area to keep light out as this area gets real bad with this stuff.

Lights will remain off in the sump area for several months to see if I can finally get rid of this stuff.

Good luck. Since you don't have cheato anymore, are you feeding the phosban reactor from the chamber before the fuge area? That way hopefully removing phosphates before it gets there? Just a thought.

Yes I have the reactor pump in the return area, Shares the same area as the skimmer. The output goes into the fuge area.

Not sure of the sand. I used what I had (still in bags). I had one bag of sugar fine and two of 2mm. It was one reason I went with 5".

That looks pretty clean! Hopefully it won't come back. May take some time for that sand to become "live". Maybe seed it with something?
