starting a prop tank

Well I have finally decided to start a prop tank and start fragging some of my larger corals I need a protien skimmer for the prop tank though the tank will be 40 gal. I will be using my old EHEIM wet/dry filter for filtration and have the body of my old Seaclone protien skimmer minus the pump for it do you guys think that if I got a new pump for the Seaclone that would be enough for the tank? I do not have SPS corals only softies and LPS that I would be fragging.

Thanks,

Well there are a few things you might need to consider. Are you going to have substrate and live rock? Also which Seaclone is it? What is the skimmer rated at? If you aren't going to have much natural filtration you are going to want to make up for it with a sufficient skimmer.

it will be a BB tank with a 40 gal sump with as much LR that I can shove into it the skimmer is the Seaclone 100 (I used it on my 90 dislpay tank for over 4 years) the Eheim filter is to run carbon. Sorry for not explaining that to start

Thanks,
