starting build on 65

need info about pump size for 65 gallon tank going to use 20 long tank for sump. i would be greatfull for any info

for me rio 1400 has worked great.
i think a lot of people use mag drive pumps.

we have a 65G with a 20G long sump and use a mag 5 return, theres about a 4 foot run and a 2 foot rise for the water to travel back up to the tank

if you want something you'll never have to think about again, look at something like the eheim 1250 or 1260. they're a bit more than the mag pumps, but well worth it. I think the 1260 with a valve backing it off a bit would be the best solution in this case, probably aiming for about 350-400 gph.

I use a mag 7 with a 1" tube. Works great! Also have the 20 gal sump under the tank. Up for about a year with no problems. The pump that is not the tank. LOL

I actually like the Quiet One Pumps....less heat than Mag IMO

I use a 6000 now.....had one on my 65

thanks for all the help the 65 with a sump is all new to me my 55 does not have all this fancy stuff lol
