After a year with my 10g my tank crashed
It was fine the whole time then i dont know what happened
I lost some palys, shrooms and this unidentified lps coral that i had
Now im goin start over but make some changes too my system
i have a few questions about this

i was using a 70w mh sunpod from current usa
it works great
im going to change the bulb but i dont exactly know how to take the bulb out without busting in
also would that be too much light for zoos?
im looking into a skimmer(yes it was skimmerless) but have no idea wut to get
a skimmer around $80 can fit my budget
im only 15 so i dont have all the money in the world
im planning on using my diy rock i made
it came out pretty nice and porous
i cured it for like 2 months already
i totally forgot it was in the back of my toilet haha
anyways i used the rocksalt from lowes and cement to make it for those of u wondering
this is how i planned the setup process
1 sand and diy rock in the tank with the water
2 let it cycle for 2 weeks
3 after 2 weeks im going to add 2 turbos to get the cycle really goin
4 test water params for weeks until the tank is cycled
5 then add some lr to seed the tank
Is this cyling process ok or should it be diferrent?

also should i run carbon or chemipure?
which is better?

If the rock is clean and the water stable then add your LR to seed.
If the LR is uncured you'll have to wait for the spike to settle just as if you used all new LR.
For the purpose of seeding clean rock it is best to purchase or have a friend give you some fully cured rock. Transport it in water if you can and make sure it is added to the tank as quickly as possible to prevent any die-off.
Add a few snails and monitor it for a couple of days, then slowly begin to add your livestock; the key to any tank's success is patience.

If you are diligent about water changes and run carbon (changed out every two weeks) you can definitely get away without a skimmer.

i was planning on staring with just the diy rock then add some turbos then add LR a few weeks later
so carbon is better than chemipure?

If the LR is uncured than add that before the snails; you want to allow the ammonia to spike before adding anything alive.

I prefer carbon as I've never seen Chmipure benefit any tank I've run it on, however many I speak with, swear by it.
