Looks like fossilized creatures?

Cant be alive. Not moving but does seem to multiply. My sand is crushed coral fine crushed. I have a rock that had lots of fossilized creatures. Identical to this. At first was just like 4. Now it looks like it spread. So wth is it? It doesn't seem to be hurting the flesh of the frogspawn or the skeleton.

Unable to resize but the photo was taken with a zoom function and at lowest rezolution. Still looks huge.

Doesnt look like any time of flatworm or pest...

Harmless tube worms. They will grow on any solid surface. Filter feeders.

Thumbs up to the 2nd shift reefCentral team. Thanks for the quick reply. Ive been scratching my head...i have a really nice looking purple rock that cured with the fossil looking tube worms, seems they wernt fossils but live. They were all over the rock and i thought it gave the rocks character. Untill it got on my corals skeletons...so i dipped them in RX and didnt seem to help.

I wont be placing the purple glass rock in the upgrade.
And will attempt to dip again prior to transferring.

Any ideas personal exp on removing these from coral?
Whats the benefit? Filters? Ontop of all the other filters we put in place?

Not needed. But can accept them

What horror stories?

The ones of them keeping the population of all the creepy crawlies in check and looking beautiful. Those are horrible.

Don't let the 6 line stories cloud your view of all wrasses, those thing are psychotic and unpredictable. Mine was a royal jerk, but made a great frag tank Pitbull, but not a general population type.

And the tube worms are harmless, but seem to bloom when there is an abundant food source.

Why would you want to eradicate beneficial filter feeders? They filter out microscopic particles in the water column any physical filter probably wouldn't catch. They are part of the biodiversity in your tank.

There are psychotic killers in every species, that doesn't make the whole species bad.

Your absolutely correct.
But if i was told several times that a fish has eaten the eyes of other tank mates....then the fish in question is the same one.

I wont risk it. I actually wanted one. But locals and cautioning the member in the post i pasted....the later he said the eyes were missing..
Yea. I did want a wrasse. Not so much
