Starving Algea Blenny

Also my Algae blenny eats from the rock and glass but he never eats green marine algae that I put in the tank for the other fish.

My Algae Blenny loves Prime reef flakes, and those red worms in the frozen food cubes. He eats 5 or 6 worms when I throw a cube in. I would give these foods a try. Also, like one of the others has already stated, you might want to overfeed the tank to get some algae growing in there. Nobody wants to see the fish die.

Are you sure it's an Algae Blenny?

Not eating prepared foods is quite common with Algae Blennies, especially from the genus Salarias IME. Depending on the other inhabitants of the tank such as corals I don't think trying to induce an algal bloom is a very good idea. Also, they rarely if ever eat Blue Green Algaes.

All I am saying is that telling someone to just get rid of the fish is not helpful at all and alienates them. Correct me if I am wrong but this forum is to HELP people, not shoot them down...

He wasn't shooting you down and was trying to help. I think you took what he said in the wrong way and it was probably good advice if some of the other things I've mentioned don't work. I'd try the sinking tablets next if the paste doesn't entice him to eat.

Lastly, I highly doubt you'll be able to sustain him for long just by swapping out rocks from your refugium.

If your trying to feed an animal that eats algae, I don't see anything wrong with encouraging a lil algae by feeding heavy every once in a while. In fact I like algae in my tank. Especially when It's got perdy colorz. :)
