Stating a 29 Gal. T5 lights possible?

I’m planning to set up a 29 gallon tank with T5, and I’m having difficulty finding a compatible fixture for it. 29 gallons are 30” long but most T5’s are either 24” or 36”.
My setting won’t allow me to hang them from ceiling, and don’t want to mount a 36” on it because of the light spill. Is there a mount that can hold a 24” to my tank? Or should I just forget T5 and use PC?

whynot build a custom hood and install 24inch retros
I agree here. T5HO only comes in 24" and 36" bulbs. A 30" fixture would just have 24" bulbs in it. In all honesty, I have a 29g and the 24" T5HO is better. Plus, the 30" PC fixtures also use 24" bulbs.

I wouldn't mind installing a 24" retrofit, but to build a custom hood from scatch is not my...specialty =). Any recommendations on the hoods that i can mod?

I had the same problem with my 36g bow. could not find lights to fit. It is also 30 inches wide. A canopy wasnt option for me either. The only thing that we came up with was a bought 2 coralife hang on back of tank haldies. Each are 150 w 14000k. More than what I wanted to spend but I can have anything I want to have in the tank and if and when I upgrade I can still use the lights. Good luck I know what you are going through

If you light that idea I also glued led moonlights on the sides and it looks great. I kinda like the look of the light fixtures also They look like real modren decor over the tank

If you weren't striclty thinking about T5HOs or PCs, then the clip on Metal Halides are really nice. Even the nice 70w Metal Halides would work for a 29g.
