staying put

I want to get an anemone to stay put any suggestions?

Well there are none out there. All anemone's will move to a certain degree, its just what they do. But most of the time when you first put an anemone in it will move for a few days until it finds a spot it likes, and then it will most likely stay put after the first few days or a week or two from trying to find a spot it likes.

Usually everytime i buy an anemonme it will stay put immediately and will usually adjust by moving a couple of inches. If you have great flow, and great lights, moving is not that much of a problem.

I find that if the anemone is happy, it will stay put. Research the ideal conditions for the type of anemone that you have. If it is a sand, sand at rock or up on the rock type anemone. Good wide alternating current above the anemone but not blasting it's foot is usually good. Feed it so that it thinks it is in a good food catching spot also seems to helps.

Does your condy move at all? Also i thought you said your carpet moved a couple of inches,moving is moving no matter how big the move is.

More like adjusted. There is a difference.

There's never any guarantee that any nem won't move.
If you want to minimize the possibility of damage to corals up in your rockwork, get a nem that prefers the sandbed.
If you want to minimize the possibility of damage to delicate stuff in your sandbed, get one that naturally prefers the rockwork.
My RBTA moved around quite a bit. I put it where I thought was the most naturally happy place for it and it had other thoughts.
My LTA hasn't moved an iota. I put it where I thought was the most naturally happy place for it and it agreed with me.

Got any pictures of your tank for us to look at?
What sort of lighting do you have?

My RBTA only moved two inches on the rockwork and only killed a mushroom. My carpet moved two inches on the sandbed for better flow and did nothing except altered the sandbed. My Condy moved after I switched my lighting to T5s after it has been under PCs and killed nothing. So I have been lucky so far.
