steel coating

I'm getting ready to make a canopy that extends to the ceiling. The access doors will be about 18" wide and hinge opening upwards at the top of the door on 316 stainless piano hinges.

As a hold open, I'm thinking about placing removable magnetic hooks and wondering what to use as a anti-corrosive coating. Of course the magnet portion will take some abuse.

Just wondering if anyone can recommend an anti-corrosive coating that's reasonably easy to DIY apply.

vinyl is a good options for magnets, you can just coat them in a thin layer, I believe you can get vinyl and just melt it down, I would do this outside though...
