Stenorhynchus seticornis question

I didn't know where else to post this. I hope this is alright to do.

I have a question regarding the Stenorhynchus seticornis (arrow crab). Can anyone give me their experiences with this species? I picked up one today with a couple peppermint shrimp for my tank and thought they'd be harmless, but now I'm worried by the information I see about them online.

Yes yes, I know I should research before I buy, so did I make a mistake buying the arrow crab? The peppermints are more important to me, so should I bring the arrow crab back before it kills anything? I have no fish, just a few snails and hermits otherwise.

Thanks for any help/experiences you can give me.

Depends on your deffinition of a mistake. They can be agressive, especially big ones. they can and will eat a fish they can overpower, they are more active at night when your fish are asleep. They do a great job of eating bristle worms and other pests in your tank, but they will not discriminate between your display inverts and nuisance inverts.

One thing to know about them is they do not replace lost limbs like other shrimp or crabs when they shed. They sometimes partially replace them if they are young, but once they are adults if they lose a claw or leg they will not grow a new one.
