how do you sterilize fish once they are born?

i've read of hormonal and heat shock methods to produce sterile fish, but how could it be done to an already hatched fish, not larvae?

if all lion fish were sterilized the atlantic wouldn't be so heavily populated with them.

and it might help with aggression in certain species.

i just read that an aquarist could very cheeply use radition to make fish sterile.

would i just stick my fish in the microwave for a few seconds? lol jk...i think.
