Stethojulis bandanensis

Hi dudes

I want to get some information about the red-spot ribbon wrasse "Stethojulis bandanensis". My LFS has one which came in today.

I dont know if this wrasse is hard to keep or aggressive/peaceful.

Can someone give me some information about this wrasse? I found an old thread but there is no information about the behavior or something.

Avoid. They fair poorly in captivity, as you really can't feed them enough to sustain them. A very fast metabolism and a very active fish.

Personality is very peaceful, but I agree with the above statement about not getting enough to eat in most tanks.

Thanks for your answers guys. So I think I have to pass on this one.. What would you say how many times should this wrasse be fed a day? Like some Anthias about 6 times?

Yes, many frequent meals are by far better than a couple large ones. Generally 3-6 feedings a day depending on the fish. By feeding smaller quantities it also keeps your tank cleaner as there is less waste in the tank.
