Steve's LED Retrofit Programming Help - Biocube 32g

Somewhat new to the hobby, its been about 4-months since setting up my tank. I had a tank a few years back that a family member took from me because I started traveling for work. I was familiar with Steve's LED's, but this is my first kit and first Biocube 32g.

For reference, here is exactly what Steve's Kit I am using:

Biocube 32 LED Turbo Upgrade System- Plug and Play
Digital LED Controller: HurricaneX Digital LED Controller
Temperature Probe
Iridescence Booster LED combination

I installed Steve's LED Retrofit kit (quite simply, BTW) last week. Just raised my levels the recommended amount yesterday on schedule. I setup the lights using the recommended schedule exactly as they stated, and have since changed the hours - 7AM/6PM for me w the 90 minute ramp. That being said, with the recommended settings, my lights switched to a dim purple at midnight and stay on all night. With the Biocube lights, I was able to set it up for the lights to turn off at midnight, and back on in the morning...so I had from morning to night - Sunrise-Daytime-Sunset-Off cycle. The Clowns loved the lights being off, they used to sleep on top of each other in the corner...my wife came downstairs last night and said the lights were dark purple and the fish weren't sleeping like they used to. What the heck am I doing wrong? I cannot figure out how to get them to shutoff as a part of my setup. Any advice?

Also, I would love to know if anyone is using the lights with a good controller that can be programmed from a phone app or something. I don't care for the HurricaneX, but it will do for now.

Thanks!

Not familiar with Steve’s LEDs but perhaps you can post your question over in the Nano section sub forum where you may get better responses. As far as a better controller goes, I use a Bluefish Mini to control my Nanobox Retro LEDs in my Biocube 29 via a phone app. Works great!
