i am looking for a place that might sell a Stichodactyla mertensii or Merten's carpet anemone it is the only carpet that will dwell on ur rock and not sit in the sand if anyone knows a site to buy one please let me know

Why not a BTA? Mertens are generally considered a hard anemone to keep. Keep an eye on Liveaquaria (specifically the divers den). They get them in every once in a while and the divers den is a "what you see is what you get" section, so you know exactly what you are going to get.

Good luck with that. I've been looking for years and haven't been able to find one. They are not imported very often. Check into gigantea. They are found on rocks at times. Very difficult anemone to keep though.

There is one here in Edmonton for sale right now, 9". Don't know where you are, but it might be a long trip :)

Giganteas are a "Rock Dwelling" carpet as you put it.Check into one o fthose.Ive been looking for a Mertsnii Carpet for quite some time. But Ive had no luck.Reef Hot Spot says they can get them but its to iffy for me!

i have read that the Giganteas need a dsb so would mean it settles in the sand imo... the Giganteas is harder to keep due to it need the most light but I will keep my eye out for what i am looking for thanks for the replys

giganteas actually settle at the rock sand interface but attach to the rocks. Usually 4-6" off the sand

I ordered a merten's from reefhotspot and was sent a very bleached gigantea so I would say getting one from them may be slim at best. On a much more positive note they fully recredited me for my purchase and all my other experiences with them have been excellent including my current magnifica which I've had for around 10 months now.
