When people are send out search parties for you you know you haven't been on in a while.

First off business...

I sent this to Jason yesterday and I thought I would post it publicly to explain my self.

"Trustee Status

Not that you probably didn't notice all ready,

I haven't been around much lately. Two jobs, a small business, and a 65 hour 7 day a week work week and I don't have time for anything anymore. While I've dragged my feet enough on it I haven't got anywhere on the auction or have done much of anything for the club and I am sorry for that.

That I why I need to step down as trustee for Davenport. I am not quiting the club or and the reef is not going anywhere but the spot needs to go to someone that has the time to work on the few things.

Clayton"

Really besides my vacation that I did use to go to IMAC I have had 4 days off in 7 months. Fun stuff.

That was all well and good until I serious, no posturing, or scheming put in my 2 weeks notice at work. Instead of letting me go they want to promote me and my I have had a couple other offers.

No telling what the future holds... and I am a planner so that drives me crazy. boo-hoo. moving on.

Enough with the jibber jabber how bout some pics.

Well all good reef keeper know sudden change is bad. I knew it but I guess it didn't sink in.

Changing more than one variable at once is bad. I know.

Well "new toy crazy" I came back to my reef from IMAC and changed a few too many things.

1) Went off Prodo-bio. Always thought I did something but it seem expensive for its added gain. Was planning on switch to another pro-biotic method more on that later.

2) Added my new Lumni-arch mini to the center of my 3 MH. Yet another believe in the Lumni-arch they work as advertised. Great spread and an honest 30% brighter.

3) Added 2 Koralia 4, to the 2 mj1200 mods, a SEIO 1100, and 800GPH at the return. Love the Koralia if these where around early the mod would have never taken off.

 Still talking I thought he said pictures:rolleyes:

OK OK

Nothing really needs a mj1200 mod and a Koralia 4 blowing on it at the same time.
Burnt 3 or 4 frags

Ended up using the Koralia's up front and having the mjs and return blowing down in back of the rock work ala Bob's style. Things are in a happier place current wise now.

A big part of the problem was changing so much at once that I was not sure what the certain corals had issues with.

I had to wait to figure with each frag was responding to to fix it.

Next problem was very few corals even Acro needs to be a foot under a 400MH in a lumni. I burnt 3 or 4 more frags from that. Some got lighter some RTN'ed. Even with acclamation it didn't help.
Anyone waiting on Allen's baby blue Gomez from me has a real wait now as the under side of the branches are the only thing with flesh now:rolleye1:

Some good thing turned out from it as well... later........

on to more bad.

Once the damage was done it was easy enough to figure out what was going on but this one still has me stumped.
Out of the beaming light and the strong current

"Purple Slimer Disease"
When the flesh of my pretty perfectly healthy green slimers started turning bright purple I thought cool... They look like GARF Bonsai now. But then they started STNing ugh. While it has stopped they haven't started to regrow yet and I don't have a clue what caused it.
Check out the margins of the STN and the purple color.

3 different frags from two different source in two different spots around the tank so I am kinda stumped.

Any ideas?

Enough with the bad how about some good. Having been in the hobby for 3 year yet upgrading my reef 3 times this is the first time I've had a stable mature tank.

At least when I don't screw it up:lol:

The havoc the new toys caused in the end the tank seems better off.

Turns out very few corals even acro needs to be blasted by 400W mh lumni action. Ah but the ones that do enjoy it take off like weeds.

Same thing with the flow when I got it all worked out I finally got good random constant churning flow.

So there for was progress the coral that enjoyed it.

LA's 30k lokani turn purpler than purple and started growing finally under my man made sun spot.

If I can keep it alive for a few years this will end up being one of my nicest corals

Yellow millie vs a prostrata. Milles gaining ground gorwing directily over the prostrata limbs :eek1:

"Big rob" the clever name I thought up for my biggest robusta is almost a foot now. Part of all the moving I did a few days ago was to let the winner in this battle have more sprawl space

Considering 90% of the reef was started from frag I am starting to finally get something to look at keep in mind I had 6' to fill.

All in all some good some bad.

and I will try not to be so much of a stranger.

PS none of the fish were bothered in the slightest by any of this.

Include the fatter than ever idol that I have had for almost 8 months now

and yes I still my doorman Big Boy

he's almost 5 now!

Hey Covey, Glad to see your locani is doing well. Mine is still surviving... not growing, just surviving. Maybe I should throw a luminarc over him? HAHA

Don't know if you remember my tank, but I have some "flowery" looking stuff going nuts in my tank. (I'm pretty sure its Blastomussa) So, if you have a frag you'd like to swap, for it - like a small piece of that scrips millie - let me know.
