So it's been quite a while since I actively posted due to a number of competing responsibilities due to a recent home purchase, restoration and move (which is still ongoing). I have downsized my former tanks into a 65 gallon mixed reef situated at my private practice office and a temporary 30 gallon tank in the basement of my new home until I construct a larger reef when time/resources allow. Since my time away from this forum I have been saddened to see the gradual depletion of many of our Binghamton area reefers, partly in response to the economic hardships imposed by the recession. Hopefully, though fewer in number, the remaining diehard members as well as the newer blood can endeavor to reclaim some of the former spirit and activity of the So. Tier reef Society.
Here are some pics from my mixed reef at my office. Its an extremely low tech display with no sump, with only a small HOB skimmer and a canister filter. And yet it appears to be thriving.
