Hi,
I have a new tank resident. Reddish in regular light and fluorescent orange in black light. Very localized right now. Help, is it cyano?
Saltwater tank, 29 gal nano. A clown, a PJ, two fire shrimp and three peppermints. Water tests normal lights 8-10 hours a day.

Thank you!

yep about that time it usually happens . siphon it off and DO NOT blow it around with a turky baster . the system is balancing out . some don't get the cyno but a heck of a lot of people do , even with good water test . don't worry till it starts to get all over everything .

Looks like cyano to me. Are you using ro/di or tap water? If your using tap, you need to switch. It doesn't matter how established a system is, if your still contributing to the problem with bad water.

Use ro/di. Get some Dr Tims Re-fresh after you siphon it off. Do a new application every 3rd day (turn of uv and skimmer for 24 hours after application). After a week following the application follow up with WasteAway. The beneficial Bacteria will prevent an outbreak. Carefull with the WA as it could kill snails. Use only half dose to start. Trust me - this worked for me.

Whatever it is, it's too tiny to fret too much about. Cyano is best handled by leaving your tank lights off 3 days while either doing water changes daily or skimming efficiently, blues the 4th day and back to normal after that. You may have to do it once a month for several months, but the skimmer or water change exports the dieoff, whatever it is. Suggest reading a thorough google of cyanobacteria: you will believe there irs life in outer space. And it's probably this stuff.
