Stink!!

I just pulled my water change bin inside to start filling with RO water for a water change, i started putting water in it and i noticed that it smelled bad. What would make the inside of the bin smell? it is covered when it is in my garage, and i always rinse it out before i put it out there. Do you think that the water that is already in there is bad?? Thanks!!!

I notice that my brute cans that I use for a water change sometimes smell like cat pee. Just from being closed up.

hmm yea that is strange if you only mix new salt water in it. what does it smell like?

Maybe you shouldn't cover it tightly, as the saltwater from your last water change tries to evaporate. Let some air in to let it dry out more quickly between changes.

Pull the lid and aerate it well with a powerhead before using it.
Mine does the same thing when I seal it up tight.

I use steaming hot water to clean mine before using each time and it takes the smell away!!!!
