Stock of the Tunze Magnet

Anybody know of a place that actually has the 6080.50 magnets in stock?
I need to get two badly since my holders are broke.
I checked marinedepot and premiumaquatics and they're both outta stock. Would preferred marine since they're local and I could pick it up.

They will get them soon, they started coming in again, we got about 50 of each Friday but will get a hundred of each in a few more days and all the backorders should get filled. How did they break? I could send a part for the time being.

roger, are they modifying them to allow thigns to clip in or are they still just kind of allowing stuff to just hang? does taht make sense? sorry to semi hijack, this just post just made we wonder.

It was during the move. The round brackets at the top that hold the screw in and the screw itself is broke.
I really appreciate the offer to send out the part. I think for the long run it would be best to get the magnet as that's what most people have used and liked.

Do you think there would be a problem using the bigger magnet on a 90g aquarium?
The physical size is the same right?

I would like to know as well. I'm real anxious to get any magnet but would really wait if there was a new and better design.

Physical size is the same, you just have to be more careful installing it, the big one is a finger crusher for sure and you wouldn't want it to snap against the glass.

The design won't change except for a change that was made in the tolerance a couple months ago making the fit just a bit tighter, it is still loose but that is to allow easy removal especially after a few months when algae has grown on the magnet and could make removal difficult if it was a tight fitting clip, I think they made the space a couple tenths of a mm tighter.

I really love the tunze products but I just wish they were more readily available and were cheaper of course.

I think it just might be best to wait for the 6080.50 magnets.

I shipped some out Friday from what I got and I ship the rest today and more will arrive in a few days. The availablity is improving and will continue to.

Roger--what's the latest news on this? Marine Depot still lists the magnets as 4-6 weeks to ship.

They sent some out before they closed for the year and those arrived last week. If you had an order in it shouldn't be too long. Also, the problem with the shortage of actual magnets is resolved so once they start producing again the shortage should be relieved quickly.

Neither MarineDepot nor PremiumAquatics has the magnet in stock; any idea as to when they'll have them?

Or are any other merchants currently holding?

I doubt anyone would have them, we haven't gotten anything shipped to us yet this year, the first big shipment leaves Germany tomorrrow, the dealers should start to get some stock in in early February.

Hah -- I put an order in at ChampionLighting for a turbelle with a raft of accouterments, including a 6080.50 magnet, which their site said was in stock.

Got the order confirmation, included the magnet, and was charged for everything. Got another email, said everything shipped. Got the shipment, everything but the magnet.

Great, so I locked up $400, and can't use the setup, since I planned the whole thing around having a magnet.

We got in magnets last week, most dealers will just now be receiving them. More should arrive in another week. I would bet you can make them work in the meantime with what was included.

I'm working with an acrylic corner tank, where the only (large) opening is a square along the front hypotenuse.

So if I wanted to mount the powerhead to the front of the tank, then yes, I could make it work with what was included. Otherwise, I need to cut/drill the top, or get alternate mounting hardware. The magnet would be SO much easier and lower impact!

You don't have an overflow they could be clamped on, just temporary? If not, just give it a couple weeks, they will come in very soon.

The geometry of the overflow makes mounting a challenge, but I'll see if I can make that work.

Glad to hear that there coming into the states I bought mine on 1/18/06. The seller stated 13 pairs in stock at the time of sell. Glad to hear I am not the only one that has been waiting.
