Stock pump and maxi900

Just curious if you guys think that running a maxi 900 as the filter pump and the stock pump in the aquarium would be to much flow?Iseem to have alot of dead spots even with the hydor that i put on?

are you having any temp problems at the moment? reason i ask is the stock pumps tend to run warm this with a second heat source could make your temp raise a few degrees
I am not a big fan of the stock pumps on any of the 12G systems on the market.

900 should be fine, i have the 1200 in mine right now as a temp and its alot of flow almost too much. just ditch the stock pump all together and run the 900

I'm using a Minijet 606, it is quieter than the stock pump on the NC12DX. How would the 900 be in terms of noise? I am also using the Hydorflow.

I never hear the 900 it just seems that even with it and the hydor there is not enough flow?
