Stocking 90g

Hi all,

I have a 90g long tank (5' long). Currently I have 2 ocellaris clownfish and some corals (not many, not big yet). I am looking to add a number more fish, preferably with as many colorful open swimmers as I can get. The tank has a mesh top, so I am not worried about jumpers. I do plan to keep corals, but I am not particularly worried about the corals being minorly harassed (no big coral eaters, tho!).

Any suggestions for some good additions? I am thinking about a yellow tang and a wrasse of some sort at this point.

Suggestions welcome! Thanks!

I suggest you get a watchman goby and pistol shrimp. Not the most out-in-the-open fish, but great to watch and they have a fairly low bio-load.
Cardinalfish? I especially suggest the baggais or perhaps threestripes... Pyjamas get dull as they age.
A chromis? Not a green one if you don't like them- maybe a blue.

I really like my African flameback angel. It eats pellets. Nips at a soft coral here and there but nothing to warrant taking him out. Very nice coloration for the price.

In the tanks I have had them in have nipped at fleshy LPS, zoas, and clams. Definitely be cautious with corals.

Wrasses of the Genera Paracheilinus, Cirrhilabrus, and some Halichoeres are worth looking into.

Some of the hardier anthias are great choices for color and being out in the open.

IME these fish are active swimmers (i.e. not hidey fish!)
- A bristletooth tangs like the Kole tang, tomini tang, or two spot bristletooth tang
- Royal gramma
- Mida blenny
- Flasher Wrasse
- Longnose or Flame Hawkfish
- Chalk Basslets (always wanted to try a group of these)

Pygmy angels are hit or miss as to whether they will damage corals although certain species are more likely than others to do damage. I have had mixed results with Coral Beauties, but they are sure attractive fish.

Thanks, all! I'll check it out.

In a previous tank I had a flame angel, which was a good swimmer, and a candy hogfish, which was ok. My other fishes were mostly hiders: clownfish, purple pseudochromis, lawnmower blenny, dragonet.

angelfish much corals, some more than others. big risk there are exceptions but not the norm.

open swimmers: any Halichoeres wrasse, leopard wrasses, kole tang, blennys(dont add with a kole).

my dispar anthias are out in the open but dont swim all over they sort of hover back and forth in a certain area.

id' skip the yellow tang.
