Stocking a 180g

Your standard 180, which of these fish could I keep together? (assuming I could even keep either of the Triggers in a 180)

1 - Male Blue Throat Trigger
1 - Niger Trigger
6 - Green Chromis
1 - Purple Tang
1 - Sailfin Tang
1 - Copperband Butterfly
6 - Banggai Cardinals

A couple Wrasses, maybe a couple Blennies?

This is just a list of fish I like - not a "stocking list." I'd like to know which of those could be kept together (iow, you pick the stocking list from my list!)

I'm also a fan of the Bellus, Lamark, and other angels from that genus. Not sure which genus it is, but also the Interruptus Angel. So please also consider those.

I really appreciate any input.

Is this going to be a reef?
If so, the two triggers will be very nasty.
The Bellus and Lamarks are from the genus Genicanthus. Check out the G. melanospilus female.
If it is going to be a high flow tank, skip the Cardinals. They like to hang out as a group is still water.

Yeah, reef tank. Those two triggers are supposed to be a couple of the most reef safe.

Probably reef safe, but triggers eat meat and make lots of waste. I originally considered a pair of Crosshatch for my 390, but didn't want the bio-load.

I just got a 180 gallon reef to.
How much is the maximum amount of fish I can keep and my skimmer is a octopus dnw 200. Its going to be a sps reef tank.

Purple Tangs can be very aggressive so add it at the same time as the Sailfin.

There is no maximum amount as such. It all depends on what you are going to stock. Post a stock list thread.

I would recommend that you stock it lightly if you're going reef. One of the biggest mistakes anyone makes as a reef keeper is to assume that your fish space is virtually unlimited as long as you have a large enough skimmer. This completely ignores the fact that fish need "personal space." I'd add all the tangs at once for sure, because they can be extremely territorial and aggressive towards other tangs.

Why not a pair of blue throat triggers and skip the niger. Also, I would skip the copperband due to the more aggressive fish you have on the list. The tangs should be fine if added together, and added last to the tank. If you are going to keep SPS though, you should keep the bio-load down, so keeping triggers might not be beneficial to SPS. As for angels, it will be hit or miss with any except for the bellus, lamarck, wattenabi, etc. that are reef safe.
