I have a 200g tank that i have had for about 4 months. i have about 200 lbs of LR and 2" of sand. I moved my fish from my earlier 55g tank and purchased new coral but i am ready to get something new. I have a niger trigger that is about 6" long, a maroon and LTA, and a false percula along w/ my corals. I know i want to get rid of the trigger and prob. everything else. i like the LTA and maroon except for the constant moving and distruction of my sand bed. Does anybody have any sugg. for new fish for the future?

Thanks

lol... theres so many fish I want that I can't have because my tank is small.. Really, its all about what you want to see.

If I personally had a 200g tank the first fish I would get... hmm...

probably:
purple tang
mandarin goby or two
a few anthias (box anthias? lyretail?)
sailfin tang
twospot blenny
midas blenny
handful of chromis
?? flasher wrasse
pearly or bluespot jawfish

Consider this though...
I do not have exprience stocking a largeish tank like you have, and I don't know if the above fish are compatable at all. That is only where I would start looking if I were to be setting up a tank like that.

Definitly look into the midas blenny and the jawfish... (jawfish will stir your substrate tho.. just so you know...) because these two fish are supposed to be very entertaining.

Hmmm...a 200-gallon tank...that's like a big blank canvas for an artist. By the way, unless the disruption of your 2-inch sandbed is really annoying you from an aesthetic point of view, it wouldn't be having any effect on your reef, so you may want to keep the Maroon.

I'd consider getting a Solarensis Wrasse. They're really colorful and are really nice to watch swim over the rockwork in the reef. You could also consider other members of the Fairy Wrasse and Flasher Wrasse groups. They're so colorful and "reef-safe." Anthias are also nice...some Square-spots would look good in your reef, but also take a look at the Squamapinnis. They are good-looking fish.

I like jafoca's idea about the Purple Tang...who wouldn't, I suppose...(though I understand they can get pretty aggressive after a while,) but wait a good long time before you add any Mandarins so that the pod population in the rockwork has a chance to really establish itself.

I like the idea of the solarensis wrasse i think they are very colorful nice looking fish that would really add to the tank. i really like the purple tang and have thought about one for a whyle The chromis i think are not a bad choice i think a small school of fish adds to the tank and makes it feel full.

I would really like to add mabe another trigger that is not as aggressive and more colerful. I like the niger triger because of his activity and i really like the swim pattern of trigger fish. do you have and sugg. for another trigger?

I also am wanting to keep my maroon clown but i might like to consider trading my LTA in for something more colorful and that will attach to the rocks not constantly on the sand bed.

I also forgot to mension my snoflake eel which is about 2' long and think they are pritty peaceful and get along with most everything but is there anything that he will bother or that will bother him?

Thanks for all your help
