STOCKING a 50G Cube

dnguyen1

Will work for fish
Here's my stock list :)

1. Flame Angel
2. Six Line/Eight Line/Possum Wrasse (it'll just be one of those, not all 3)
3. Fridmani
4. Pair of black clowns
5. ?????

My wife would like to be in charge of number 5, I'm curious what suggestions you guys have... she's into "CUTE" looking stuff. A dogface puffer is CUTE to her... but of course I already shot down the idea.

Any suggestions would be appreciated :)

THanks

Stock list looks good overall. I wouldn't do the sixline. You will find more instances where they turned in terrors than continuing to play nice. Plus, they can make it extremely hard to add fish later...they have a tendancy to terrorize them.

What about a little toby puffer? I don't know a whole lot about them, but here is some info

That was going to be my suggestion as well. Maybe a leopard.

Haha, I'm really glad that I told you guys my wife loves the puffers... our german shepherd's name is TOBY!!! This is going to be awesome.

I will definitely take the advice on the SIXLINE, will find something else for now :)

Looking at the TOBY Puffer, it doesn't mark them as REEF SAFE... does that mean inverts are indanger? Or are they nippers of corals?

Tobies and puffers are not to be trusted with shrimp or snails. Some eat corals too.

I've got a blue spotted toby (C. Solandri if you want to look it up) in a tank with soft corals and he's never shown any interest in any of them. He does eat snails, though, and would probably eat shrimp and hermit crabs.

If that's a problem for you, I would skip the toby.

I have the opposite problem with my Toby. He won't touch anything that has hit the bottom of the tank, so hermits and snails are off his menu. But I did true a BTA, zoas, and a brain and he tore them all to shreds.

I have a 50g and I have:

Ocellaris Clown (the partner jumped)
Coral Beauty
Copperband Butterfly
Midas Blenny

Lots of people saw my stocklist and told me to add a mccloskers flasher wrasse.

+1 for No six line

make the orchids a pair too!

and for #5 a manderine once the tank is well established, who doesn't think they are cute!

A swissguard basslet, or candy basslet! The personality is amazing. The only problem is they will not stand up for themselves..
