Stocking advice

Xavibear

Crazy Prophet
I have a lonely tiger pistol shrimp.

Right now I have a 36g bowfront tank.

It has:
2 percula clowns
Tailspot blenny
Yellow coris
Geometric hawkfish
Pacific pygmy angel

I might have Hi fin yellow striped shrimp goby, but I haven't seen him in about 2 weeks & think that he might be dead.

Should I get a new shrimp goby if the old one doesn't surface sometime in the near future?
Would I be overstocked if I did?
Am I overstocked now?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Xavi

I think you are pushing being overstocked. You have six, maybe 7 fish in that 36 gallon. I wouldn't add anymore fish.

I'd say you're at your limit fish-wise. as for the shrimp goby, highfins are one of the smaller and more timid species. IME, once shrimp gobies get accostomed to their new tank, you'll see them often, but until they've settled in, they tend to be very spooky little fish. give it at least another month, IMO, until you write it off. if you still dont see it, they adding another small shrimp goby would be fine, IMHO, but a smaller species would be best.

I think a new high fin goby would have fairly minimal impact. I'd go for it. But only a very small species like that.

He's been in the tank for over six months & I would usually see him hovering over hole. His shyness factor was definitely over.

I'll give it a bit of time to see if he pops back out. After a couple of months I'll make a decision on whether or not to get a new shrimp goby.

Thanks for the replies guys.

oh, I thought he was a new addition- yeah, I'd say if you dont see him for a couple more months, he's probably gone.

not always the case about him being gone I have a yellow watchmen that disappeared for nearly six months and then bam there he was one day but I have a lot of rock for him to hide in though
