Bumping up from a standard 120 to standard 180.

Currently have:

- 3" regal angel
- 2.5" purple tang
- 3" potters angel
- pair 2" and 2" Picasso perculas
- 2.5" mystery wrasse

Thinking of adding:
- 3" yellow tang
- 3" yellow belly blue tang
- 3" melanurus wrasse
- 3 of some type if schooling fish

Hows this look? Too much, just right?

Will the tangs get along? Blue tang okay in 180?

Also, what's a good fish to get 3 of that like to school together?

If you can keep up with the feeding, I think anthias would be your trio. Good colors to what you have, very peaceful. Not to sure on the hippo or other tangs though. Never had a tank that big. I think the wrasse is also a good choice

Your list is fine for a tank your size.

Your purple tang will be VERY mean towards newcomers, not just to the tangs you want to add. That's the only fish that should have been added at another time.

I recommend that you keep the lights in the tank and room off for the day whenever you add new fish. Maybe even try adding the newcomers to the tank when the lights are normally off in the tank so that your purple tang is more likely to be sleeping.

Another recommendation is that you have a mirror in place outside the tank. That will cause the purple tang to be more distracted by its reflection than anything else.

If you're still going to be adding the yellow and hippo tangs, be sure to do it at the same time.

I would not recommend adding the Hippo Tang, as they require a 8ft tank or bigger. I would replace it with something like the Tomini or Kole Tang, or even the Chevron.

Ya I have read blue tangs need 8 ft but my son really wants dori :) and if it gets too large I can always trade him away? He should be okay for a few years I think?

I've never kept anthias before. .How often do they need to be fed, and which type is good to keep? I seen them in videos, they do seem pretty cool!

It's better to get fish for the tank you have, especially since your son won't want to give up a fish
