Stocklist too much?

Hey everyone,

Just picked up 3 Blue/Green Chromis today from the LFS. How do you guys think my stock list is? Tell me if I am overstocked, as I can take the Chromis back if I don't have room.

I have:
1 Banghai Cardinal
2 Percula Clowns
1 Starry Blenny
1 Yellow Watchman Goby
3 Blue/Green Chromis
+ CUC with various snails/hermits.

My tank is a 30 Gallon long, so I think I am at my limit, but do you guys think the addition of the Chromis was too much?

Thanks!

The Chromis will be okay for awhile but you will have to watch them, they may start to turn on each other. Your at or close to your limit.

I wouldnt go over 5/6 small fish for that size of tank. It really depends on filtration, maintenance, quantity of LR (a 30g tank full of rock may only have 23/25 gallons of water).

Ya, I don't think filtration is going to be an issue, I have never had any trace of Nitrite or Nitrate, even after a month without a water change. And that was with all the fish except the Chromis.

So far no aggression out of any of the fish, but it has only been 1 day since I put the Chromis in so I'll have to keep an eye out.

I thought Chromis liked being in schools of 3 or more? I was told that if I had gotten 2, then most likely 1 would be dead in a couple days, but since I have 3 they should be fine. I guess I'll just have to watch out and see.

If I do start to see aggression towards each other, what is the best course of action? Just remove 1 of the Chromis or would I have to get rid of them all?

Sure enough, the 1 Chromis that was the largest (much bigger than the other 2) started being very hostile toward the other 2 smaller ones shortly after feeding. I have him in quarantine now and will take him back to the LFS tomorrow, as they are closed today.

Another question though, should I trade him in for a Chromis the same size as the other 2, or just stick with the 2? Would they continue to fight when there are only 2?
