It's Dr. Goodluck Himself
About 2 yrs ago I replaced my AGA mega overflow with Geo's Stockmann standpipes.

Dead silent, and I mean SILENT for 2 yrs.
Now they gurgle like a kid who just finished a milkshake and is still sucking through the straw.
No salt buildup in the air tubes.
If I close the valve a bit on the drains the water level rises. It is silent, but there is no surface skimming (water level goes above the standpipe cap). If I open the drains all the way there is surface skimming but NOISY drains.
Pushing the air tubes in or raising them to just barely inserted had the same effects.
They suddenly won't go quiet.
All began with water change. I shut off flow to the dsplay from the basement as always to do the change, then reopen after the change (this allows to replace 30gal rather than about 17 in a single water change).
What can I do?? I want it quiet again!
