I brought home a crab from Florida, and after letting it grow i am pretty positive that it is a stone crab. I was wondering if anyone has any info as to how to manage it. Like if there are any foods it prefers or what to keep in the tank. I have been feeding it flakes since Feb. but dont know if it will keep up with this diet. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Also if anyone knows if it is safe to keep a sally lightfoot crab in the same tank as this crab. i do not wish to lose either one of the crabs but am about to set up a nursery for saddleback clowns and do not wish to keep the stone crab with the eggs

keep with very aggressive fish and inverts since it will grow to b a very large true crab. otherwise a species tank could suffice...i would think it is relitivly hardy

Feed it any meaty foods- silversides, shrimp, scallops... It will kill the sally lightfoot and the clowns. Putting an unidentified crab in a community tank is never a good idea.
