I have a 32 Gal. Brute Trash Can....RO.mixed with salt....pump running 24/7
Question is how long can one store water..?.....I mixed up about 25 gallons at a time for water changes and last about 3 weeks..before I have to make a new batch
TIA
Brian

I don't think that storing the water for that amount of time should be any problem, I use NSW throughout an entire month, never had any problems. I would be concern with heat transfer from the pump been on 24/7 for a month, Don't think you need to do that.

What about just running a airstone...or should I worry about it at all.......just use the pump to mix the salt and turn the pump off

Thanks Rogger

BTW Congrats on Tank Of The Month...Great speech the other night

Thanks Brian, I think an airstone is a nice add-on, but just to keep your DO high, salt will not settle back once it is mix thoughroughly, so you don't have to worried about that.

You need to find the logic behind their behaviour, perhaps the ph, alkalinity or temperature are fluctuating during this events, I've also seen some negative responses to strong lighting or even a combination of things, I dunno but you must find the pattern by playing detective in your tank until you determine what it is that is causing this, once you do it will be easier to fix the problem.

I check my ph, alkalinity calium when I do my water changes....the only thing I see is the calium is a little low....I get it up to around 400 and it stays there for a couple of days then back down to 380....so I dose calium once a week about 10mml
Ph and alk are or all week......MH lights are on 5 hours a day (150watt).......I have plenty of flow....feeding time once over 2 days....homemade mix..........I will keep tring different things
BTW here's my tank
