Strange brown algae

I'm having an issue with some strange brown algae covering my rocks and glass. My tank is 30 gallons and been going for 1.5 years. This algae came out of nowhere and quickly covered everything.

I use 0 TDS water for weekly water changes via BRS RO/DI unit.
I run carbon 24/7
I run gfo 24/7
I have a SWC 120 cone skimmer
t5 lighting with 3month old bulbs.

Any clue what this stuff is? It almost looks like it will blow off the rocks, but It wont come off even with scrubbing with an old toothbrush.





Some if it has some length to it



My snails and hermits wont touch it.

It looks like some kind of hair algae. Maybe it was triggered by the new bulbs.

Theres definately some hair algae in there. But the brown fuzz just took over in the last month or so.
