I have 5 large Tangs, foxface, Wrasses, 16 Alleni Damsels, and others. The other night, all of the fishes gathered in one corner of the tank in a very tight display. Their bodies were almost touching. After a minute or two, all of the Damsels moved to the opposite corner of the tanks. Two groups of fishes in opposite sides of the tank.
It was not feeding time, no one was walking by, and I was in the room setting 8 feet away watching.
This pattern happened twice in the same night. Very interesting, but I don't know what were they doing. The yellow tangs don't even tolerate each other.
Any idea? Or observation of similar behavior?
