strange little tentacles coming out from rocks

Hey guys,
for some time now I have progressively notices little tentacles coming out from nooks and crannies in the rocks. Never bothering anything I disregarded them as various life in a reef tank. Lately they seem to have grown and never showing a central body I couldn't find anything on them. Tonight while using my flashlight to skope out stuff latenight, I found one clinging to the skimmer in the sump and it sure looked like a brittle starfish but way way smaller. I had one years ago but got rid of it when it was over a foot long. Is this how they start out and if so what predator will take them out? I dont want those things in my tank anymore

It's probably a micro brittle star. They don't get any bigger than about the size of a quarter.

It does sound like micro-brittle-stars. I have dozens of them, and they seem to harm nothing at all. They can smell food in the water, and wave their little arms around. Once in a great while I'll see one snag a mysis shrimp.
I don't know any predators for micro-brittles; then again, I don't know why you would want to get rid of them.
