Strange white gummy substance on live rock

Hi All,

I'm about 5 weeks into my cycle with 120g tank, 30g sump, 10g fuge with chaeto on opposing light cycle. I had an unusually quick cycle, with ammonia and nitrites reaching zero in about 3 weeks. I did use seachem stability and 2 damsels to cycle (I know - shame, shame). They lived. About a week ago I had a diatom/brown algae outbreak, and got about 10 snails mix of turbo and nerites. Ive noticed some white blotches on a few pieces of live rock. They look like someone took some chewing gum from their mouth and spread it onto the rock. A few have some red and green spots. Pic attached. Mold? Sponge? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

Well, yes clean. These snails have done marvelous work in a week. That is not typical of my other rocks though. It almost looks bleached. But thats not the main issue. Im more concerned with the white bubblegum looking blotches that have only appeared on the 2 pieces of coral skeleton looking pieces/fiji rock (sorry, is there a name for the pieces that look like hard coral fossils?).

I don't see anything unusual. Is it something you can rub off? Live rock is full of irregularities. If it was covered in algae or diatoms, and is now clean, maybe you just didn't see it before?

Thanks. What about this? I looked through the hitchhiker guide and didnt see anything. Maybe sponge?
