Strange worm in Acro is it safe

Strange worm in Acro is it safe or should I do something about it? This one is in the potato chip coral. I tried to shove a probe down the tunnel but it retreats deep into hole.

Im going to guess its a vermetid snail. If you want to get rid of it you could superglue the hole. Some people are bothered by them. They spit out a web of mucus to catch particulates in the water. Not a direct threat to anything but the net can irritate corals sometimes. I would leave it alone unless you see it upsetting the coral but considering its been growing around the snail for quite some time I wouldn't worry.

Always make sure you dip your corals before adding them to your tank to avoid problems like this you never know what you may be adding to your tank.

It will not hurt the coral and it is a great filter feeder. The only problem as stated above, the web cam irratate the coral slightly.

First off, dipping doesn't catch much of anything. Your best defense after dipping is QT QT QT. Don't assume a dip is magic.

Second, it's a vermatid snail. As was posted above, it is mostly harmless. The worst it will do is irritate your polyps, and even that can be iffy depending on the coral. If yours isn't experiencing any ill effects, let it ride.

Removing everything by any means lowers your biodiversity, which is bad for your tank health in the long run. Leave things in unless 1) they are actively harming your corals 2) you know for sure that they are pests or 3) really there are only two situations in which I'd worry about taking something out of the tank.

EDIT: Apparently I'm a little feisty tonight. But really. Leave it in unless it's hurting something.
