Strange Yellow Watchman and shrimp pair?

Has anyone else experienced this? I have a yellow watchman goby and a peppermint shrimp that seem to have hit it off. :love1: They both hang in the same burrow/small cave. The YWG has moved burrows a couple of times and the peppermint always ends up with him. Is it possible for a YWG to form a symbiotic relationship with shrimp other than pistols?

I had my watchman goby pair with a pistol shrimp, but never saw that kind of behavior between a watchman and pep.

I have a watchman that seems to have paired up with a scarlet shrimp. I've seen weirder things in life. If its true love... let them be..LOL

I would theroize that shrimps don't veiw them as a threat and that if they happen to like the same spot one doesn't kick out the other.

My watchman and peperment shrimp have seem to join together as a team they hang out in the same hole.... i thought it was weird too

Same here, my YWM and peppermint seem to have been living in the same cave at least for a while now.

I wonder it it is more of a goby trait. My yellow watchman lives in a cave that opens to my front tank glass with a serpant starfish. wierd. at first i thought it was because with all the more agressive fish that i have i have to spot feed my goby at the cave mouth and the star naturally wen after the food. But its been 4 months and like clockwork there they are together.:rollface:
