Strawberry shortcake placement

I ordered a strawberry shortcake and will have it Thursday . What is the best placement for it? I would like to see some pics too , thanks :)

I recently placed my encrusted frag under very high par and it rtn, I am no expert but I would try the mid section first and bring up as needed.

As far as acros go they are generally low to moderate light. I think 250-350 PAR would be a good starting point.

I have 2 varieties of this that have been growing out for nearly 2 years. One is relatively low and one is high.

Low one (DFS Strawberry Mint Microclados): Very good polyp extension, faster growth, somewhat pastel colors, showing diagonal branching growth pattern.

High one (DFS Northwood's Strawberry Shortcake): Lesser polyp extension, slower growth, more vivid coration, Horizontal tabling growth pattern with short branches.

Unfortunately these aren't identical specimens, but they are very closely related. This is just my experience, and from it I've gathered that it is a relatively versatile acro... but takes a long time to color up after shipping. Be patient. As far as flow goes... the more the better.

I have mine medium high light, tried lower and the colors weren't as vibrant. I did notice the greens coming stronger in at lower light, which was nice, but overall I prefer the color at higher light.

Still small frag but has Ben doing good mid tank.

New wild shortcake still coloring up but still mid level but more shaded then first one.

I also have two types, the normal shortcake which tbh doesn't do a lot, put out lots of new white tips but not a lot more, it did start to develop the green but I moved it because it looked stupid where it was that was about 2 months ago and it's just a brick pink sort of colour, but has great pe.

The other bit grows very fast, it's probably doubled in size since I got it 5 or so months back, it must have grown 4" across x 3" high x 4" of seriously dense growt of literally dozens and dozens of new tip growths. Since I added the ati hybrid it's developed the pink coralites but the main body is sort of grey in colour.

The reefer just fragged the ssc for me. I'm getting a small colony :D

Mine gets blasted with light. 6" under the surface, directly below a 250w radium. Growth and color have been incredible. With high light they will be more pastel.

Man how I wish I could get the colors you guys get on your SSC!!

I have 2 frags from 2 sources, one from Copps and one from UniqueCorals. Both are placed in the upper third of my tank (a BC29 29 gallon tank). They are a dull brownish red with no green color at all. They are growing though...

I'm in the same boat. Mine is in the lower third with mod to high flow and brownish color. Very slight pink on tips. That's it. It's been since November!
