stray voltage

I went to put my hand it my tank after I rearranged some stuff earlier and I felt a shock. After I figured out where it was coming from I was figuratively shocked it was my tek fixture! Any ideas what is causing this? I am a little bummed out after spending almost 10 hours getting rid of all my bubble algae off my rocks and now this. Just when I thought things were getting better.

You must have been well insulated or else it was a tiny shock.

Do you have a ground probe? I put a couple on my tank since it's still possible to get electrocuted with a GFCI.

If the unit is still under warranty, I would try and get an exchange.

Good luck!

Thanks for the replies dela. I had my slippers on that have a rubber sole on them. No grounding probes, I heard they didn't really help at all. No warranty as I bought this used from Newschool04 back in april. When I shut the lights off I didn't get shocked, and with the actinics on no shock. Should I be worried about my livestock?
