Stream 6000 defect

Hi!

My Stream 6000 stopped working today. I didn't notice it at first, because I have 2 linked up via a 7095 controller, interval 2. They were supposed to switch and suddenly there was no current. I checked and rechecked. I then noticed that the driver of my 6000 (it's the latest driver) was running extremely hot - damn hot actually! I unplugged it, disconnected it from the 7095 and let it cool down. After about 20 minutes I reconnected my stream and it still didn't work. So, I guess it is broken. It can' be jammed, because I cleaned my streams last week.

The thing is:
My 7400/2 had exactly the same problem. Was connected to the 7095, stopped working and the driver ran just as hot. I sent it in to Tunze and had it repaired, driver and power module defect.

Can it be that the 7095 is screwing the things up?
If I wouldn't have been at home, could the driver have started burning, it was really damn hot!
My last question is the one that I'm worried about the most. The reason being, that this is the 2nd time it has happened, that a driver has gotten so damn hot.

Thanks in advance!

We change things constantly to improve them and the last improvement was to change the driver a bit so that it is more sensitive and shuts down immediately. It is a fine line, now the alarm goes off much more easily but it is almost impossible to destroy, the older design was designed to try several times before sounding the alarm. The main problem was in assembly the transistors might not get seated well so they burn out in the restart tries, this is no longer a problem. They will replace it for you.

I just got home from work and decided to try out the pump one last time before I box it, now it suddenly worked again. Do you know what is going here? Should I still send it in?

Maybe their is some confusion, the driver is the blue box, I don't know how it could get hot and not be destroyed. The transformer, the black round disk, can get hot if the pump is jammed, if it gets hot it turns itself off as a safety but once cooled it will start again.

No confusion at all. The driver (blue box) is the one that got as hot as hell (like the time when my 7400 was damaged). The transformer (black disk) was warm as usual but not hot.

I don't know what to say, I have never seen something like that before. It is really up to you, I suspect if the driver got so hot it has a problem that will come back. I have never seen a driver survive having that happen.

Guess there's a first time for everything ;) . I'll see what it's doing tomorrow, when I get home from work. Probably send it back though, don't want it to happen again when I'm on holiday or so.
Thanks anyway!
