Stream 6000 on Single Controller ?

Hi,

I didn't want to wait for the controllable Nano Stream so I just received my 6000, a single controller, magnet holder, and photo-cell from Marine Depot. That baby puts out a lot of water and I am getting a little bit of sand blowing in one corner. Not really a big deal, I think I'll just put a chunk of LR there. But, I do have the driver at 100% and the stream at 50% / 30% for the pulse affect. If I turn the driver down to its lowest setting, can I still use the controller for the pulse affect or does the lower power setting on the driver adversely affect the pulsing affect of the single controller? Also, does the photo-cell completely shut off the stream for the entire night or does it start up periodically so no critters have a chance to get in there and get chopped up in the AM when the pump comes back on? Thanks for your time and any comments.

I dont have one yet but Im preparing to order the same unit you got for my 65g. The pulse effect and stuff I didnt read up on to much but the night cycle doesnt shut the pump down. It just turns the flow down. a friend has one and he has his set this way. His starts off at 30% and over a 6 second span it pulses up to 100% and then back to 30% where it starts all over. When his light kick off his tunze kicks down to a constant 30% flow without pulsing.. I think im right on this but maybe someone else can add/correct to this and help you more.

You should never turn down the driver when using a controller, it is an either/ or adjustment. Setting both can cause damage and erratic operation.

The photocell stops the pulsing and sets the pump at whatever the bottom knob is set at.
