Stream 6100 beeping

Hi Roger,

Went on vacation and unfortunately when i came back one of the powerheads had fallen in the sand, stopped working and was beeping incessantly. It was removed by a friend of mine who was supposed to watch over the tank but i guess too late.

I took it apart, cleaning the rotor, impeller and outer case....but its not working. the beeping from the controller or driver has stopped but it seems there is no current getting to the powerhead, or is that the motor burned?

My ph probe has also gone haywire...i cannot calibrate it at all. I do not know if it is the solutions that are expired, although all my Tunze equipment was sent directly from factory, shipping documents show that, or is it that the solution within the probe itself needs to be changed???

The pump probably has some damage from the sand and will need to be sent in for repair.

Usually readings that are way off are caused by two causes, a small amount of stray current or a faulty electrode. If the electrode fell in or the cover over the fill hole was submerged or removed, perhaps it is contaminated and new fluid alone could solve the problem. How old is the electrode? They usually last 2 years.

The probe is around 6 months old...
As for the Stream, the problem is I am currently in Saudi Arabia, so I do not know how to get it fixed. Given the costs of shipping and everything it would probably be cheaper to just get a new motor no??

Thanks

Do you have a second pump? If you can rule out whether it is the driver or motor you may be able to call Tunze and arrange replacement of the bad part. Usually sending it by mail is not too expenisve even internationally.
