Stream mod?

I've meant to post this forever, finally remembered after I ran across someone who did this:

Cutting every other "slat" on the housing of the stream?

Anyone at Tunze tried this, any truth to more flow? Anyone here done it, noticed any results? (or enough to merit the time spent doing the work!)

Not if the pumps are kept clean, if the intakes are not obstructed, especially on a 6100, you will not see enough gain to justify the work or the increased risk of damage to the pump and inhabitants.
