Streams in a 90

I currently have a 90 gallon (+30 sump & 40 fuge) and really need more flow. I use three 802 powerheads (one to retun from the adjacent refugium). I have some LPS (frogspawn, galaxy, open brain) and a 2" sandbed.
I'd like to switch to two 6000's plus a 7095 controller. I'd be prepared to sell off my frogspawn if they would get blown away.
I am also planning to switch my 90 (48*18*24) gallon to a 198 (60*30*26) this year.
Any recommendations?

well if you did that set up you have the controller to turn the flow down to whatever you need.

i love tunze's and will ALWAYS have one or tow in my tanks. ok more when i get a bigger tank

i have a 92 and was going to get 2 also, but i'm ordering just 1 this week. it may be enough. i will still also keep 4 of the 6 MJ1200's to fill in low dead spots in corners. never had 1 or seen in action but i hear they're sick. 1 maybe all u need.

DMK - i would have gotten 2 you would never have dead spots w/ two not matter what. w/ the 4 MJ1200's you are eating up too much space and electricity compared to a stream. i'd upgrade to the stream when you can

probably will when my wife's not looking. i've spent over 1000 on BS in past few 6 weeks on tank. she doesn't even know the 1 6000 is being ordered this week.

I have two 6100 in my 90g which is mostly sps and love them.
I have them dialed down a bit on the controller. I was really debating between the 6000 and 6100 but it was only a bit more for the stronger pump and allows room for a tank upgrade later on.

It really depends on if you want to have all sps or a mixture with lps.

I have 3 6000s in my tank. You can still keep LPS if you balance the flow correctly. I keep mine towards the top of the tank where the SPS are. I do also dial them down a bit.

I put two 6000's plus a 7095 controller on the tank last week. What a cool setup. I've had a lot of fun toying around with wave types and the corals like it better and the fish really enjoy the random currents. The particulate has blown all around the tank and into the sump. The skimmer has been working hard and yesterday I suctioned 1/16" of particulate off the bottom of the sump. A great improvement for my tank!

Ive just ordered another 6000 to go with my original and the 7095, including a Tunze rock so hopefully my other half wont notice.
Ive already mentioned to her I need another piece of Live rock.

I have a couple of questions about the setup of your streams in a 90, this is the most I've seen people talk about having 2 streams in a 90g tank so I've been hesitant to post before now... When I first setup my tank I bought a 6000 w/ 7095 controller knowing that I would possibly purchase a 2nd 6000, well after a couple of weeks I noticed the dead spots in my tank so off it was to purchase that 2nd stream (a little earlier than I wanted)

Here's a picture before adding the 2nd stream.

Now I have tried different combinations with the placement of the streams and I am not finding that happy medium... So the question is, What placement of the streams work best for you?, and if you're using the multicontroller what settings are you using to get the best flow in your tank??? I know not every setup will work for everyone, but maybe I'm missing a configuration that could be my ideal setup...

Iwould imagine you need the other in the left back corner,
u can then use them to give a sea saw effect, having your corals etc swaying back and forth.
your best bet is to move your post to The tunze column, the guy on there is very very good.

I have moved my 6000's around a few times between back and front corners and top and middle. Like you, I've tried waves, bank-and-forth, etc. I prefer the random sequence. I had dialed the 6000's down but found that I've brought the flow back up. I'm not sure what the best combo is but it is a heck of a lot of fun experiementing with wave sequences!

IÃ"šÃ‚´m planning on buying a pair of 6000 streams. Is it worth the extra amount for the 7095 controller than getting the single 7091 plus the y adapter. My tank is 95 gallons.

No doubt in my mind, get the 7095, as usual very pricey, but the options it gives will keep you twiddling for months, plus when you move up to a 150 its all ready for a few more streams or even the powerheads.
Hey dont forget the wonderfull moon simulation, which will have your corals spawning all over the place. (sarcasm)
